Our history 

Up to 1990 Gedeon Richter Plc was the largest supplier of medications in the Soviet Union. Annual turnover to the Soviet Union was quarter milliard of rubles. As the result of collapse of the USSR this stable market was crashed. 

In 1993 due to world-wide fame of its medications the management of Gedeon Richter Plc. made a decision to establish its own machinery of government in the territory of the former USSR for the promotion of the produced medications.  

So, in 1996 the management of Gedeon Richter Plc decided to establish a pharmaceutical plant in Moscow region.  Due to investments of 25 million dollars the plant equipped with hi-tech facilities for packaging and tableting was established. 

Therefore, in 1996 the joint Russian-Hungarian enterprise CJSC “Gedeon Richter-Adamantan” was founded. In 1998 Richter bought out the Russian share and the name of the plant was change to CJSC “Gedeon Richter-Pharmograd”. So, now Gedeon Richter Plc owned 100% of the capital stock.

In 1999 the manual workshop was put into operation, followed by the launch of the machine workshop a year later. In August 2001 tableting started. Later in October, 12, 2001 there was the plant’s inauguration, which became a worth terminal event of Gedeon Richter Plc 100^th anniversary.  

In 2002 Gedeon Richter Plc decided to rename its subsidiaries according to the place of their location. Therefore, the plant got the name CJSC “GEDEON RICHTER-RUS”.

In 2004 there was the first work by contract for the mother company. That year in the result of OGYI audit CJSC “GEDEON RICHTER-RUS” was one of the first in Russia to have EU type-GMP certificate of conformity. 

We set the next task to implement quality management system and get GOST R ISO 9001-2000 certificate. GOST R ISO 9001-2000 certification is the result of efforts to increase “value proposition” for our customers, to insure them in high quality of our medications and high-grade manufacturing processes. In May 2007 CJSC “GEDEON RICHYER-RUS”got this certificate. In 2005 CJSC “GEDEON RICHTER-RUS” entered DLO programme. Currently, the plant turns out about 28 items of medications.
